The Redd On Salmon Street
Set in the heart of the Central Eastside Industrial District, The Redd is one of Portland’s boldest new event spaces – a proud celebration of the city’s industrial past; a forward-thinking culinary hub; and one of Oregon’s most unique and stylish wedding venues.
Housed in a former iron foundry dating back to 1917, The Redd’s loving restoration was completed in 2018 at the cost of $25 million. The 8,000 square-foot main hall can host up to 670 guests for a cocktail-style reception, or 350 for a ceremony and banquet.
The main hall’s industrial grandeur – assiduously maintained during a restoration which added chic modern touches will instantly enchant your guests. A giant green foundry press still proudly stands to the south of the hall: expect poured concrete floors, factory ceilings that stretch up to heaven, and walls clad in stunning local wood – including Port Orford cedar gifted by the Coquille Indian Tribe.
With high windows framing the room, natural light pours into the venue; while the steel girders and wooden ceiling beams are ideal for hanging light or floral installations. The Redd is that rare venue that offers a little bit of everything: it feels historic yet modern; understated yet characterful. Whether you choose to dress it up for your special day, or take it as it comes, you can bank on a venue that will take your breath away.
Plus, in terms of culinary credentials, few venues anywhere come close to The Redd. Historically, this part of town was a hub for agricultural goods and services – and The Redd was restored with a mission to ease the flow of food from farm to table. Redd West – right next door to our event space – provides storage, distribution and business development support for a number of innovative food entrepreneurs. Since opening doors, The Redd has become an integral part of Oregon’s food ecosystem.
So, as you’d expect, The Redd has a near-endless selection of catering partners, including several woman and minority-owned ventures. So, whether you want full-service caterers – who’ll provide furniture, bar service and staff – limited-service caterers, or just a food truck or two, The Redd has mouthwatering options to suit every taste.

Getting Ready Rooms
The Big Dawn Wedding Suite – a 500 square-foot space tucked away from the main hall – can be used as a dressing room for the bridal party. It is also an ideal spot for hiding the bride before the ceremony, and can be used for last-minute makeup touch-ups and signing the marriage license. And if the weather is especially poor, the wood paneling and wonderful window light makes for beautiful portraits in a pinch.

Photo Opportunities
The Redd’s chic industrial aesthetic lends itself ideally to wedding portraits, which can be taken in the main hall, The Big Dawn Wedding Suite, or out in the plaza – with the backdrop of vibrant mural artwork across the street. The clean, red exterior of the building makes for bold colorful group shots, and the venue is within a short walk of other urban locations.
