A Celebration with Friends and Small Businesses At The Evergreen
From the beginning, Whitney and John wanted their wedding to feel like a gathering of friends. With paper goods designed by a former colleague, beer crafted by a groomsman’s local brewery, and a cake baked by a close friend, their wedding felt like a warm extension of their community. Working with them was effortless—despite not knowing them beforehand, they made it clear they want their photographer to thei like part of the group, as well, and their warmth and humor made the day feel like photographing old friends.
Wedding Photos in a Moody Winter Palette
For their portraits, we embraced the striking mix of deep reds, burgundy, dusty rose, and soft greenery in their color palette. After their first look on a rooftop overlooking Portland, we headed to The Evergreen for classic exterior shots. Then, for something more dramatic, we moved to Voysey’s speakeasy-style basement, where the 20th-century noir ambiance, surreal floral wallpaper, and moody lighting added a cinematic touch to their wedding photos at The Evergreen.
An Evening at The Evergreen Filed with Laughter, Dancing, and Karaoke
Whitney and John’s reception at The Evergreen was nothing short of unforgettable. Their live band had everyone on their feet, dancing joyously throughout the night. During the best man’s speech, a funny old yellow hat from John’s childhood made an appearance, making its way around the room, even landing back on John’s head during some particularly enthusiastic dance moves.
As the night wound down, guests who weren’t ready to call it quits headed to Voicebox for late-night karaoke, bringing the perfect end to a day filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable wedding photos at The Evergreen.
