Cooper Spur Mountain Resort Wedding Photography

Tatum and Jared’s wedding was held at the beautiful Cooper Spur Mountain Resort up on Mount Hood. I captured their engagement at Hoyt Arboretum and we had a fun time climbing on the giant Sequoia logs down by the Redwood Deck. So based on their fun, adventurous spirits I was looking forward to their wedding at Cooper Spur.

A cool perk of having a wedding at Cooper Spur is that you pretty much get the whole place to yourself. It comes with a giant cabin where the bride can get ready, a number of smaller cabins that family can stay in, and plenty of areas to pick from for your ceremony and reception. While the resort also has beautiful views of Mt Hood on a clear day, the mountain was obscured on the day of Tatum and Jared’s wedding. But there were plenty of other beautiful locations for portraits, as you will see below.

One of my favorite aspects of their wedding was when they did the Hora. Tatum and Jared were hoisted in the air on chairs and carried around the reception tent. When they were lowered to the ground, everyone held hands and began dancing in rotating circles. Photographing the Hora feels like complete pandemonium because so many people are dancing around energetically everywhere you look. You can’t help but keep shooting through the whole thing because there are so many good moments. It’s a lot of fun.

They also had a live band that did an absolute amazing job! I will have to add a link for site when I get their information. They were so much fun and did pitch perfect renditions of so many good songs. They wore goofy props, roamed around the crowd getting people to sing into the microphone, and even led a conga line.

Also, a big shout out to Jennifer McNutt-Bloom of JMB Signature Events, the coordinator for the wedding. Every wedding that I’ve worked with her has been absolutely stunning, and this one was no exception. She comes highly recommended for any couples looking for a pro to take the reins of their event. 🙂 — KC
