Woodland, Washington Family Farm Engagement Session

I photographed Christine and Kyle’s engagement session last fall at Christine’s family farm in Woodland, Washington. When I arrived, Christine’s dad was working on renovating the old barn on the property. They plan to incorporate some of the barn wood into their wedding day decorations, which I think is a great idea, because the existing wood is beautifully aged in a rustic way. The farm was on a number of acres tucked away in rural Woodland, Washington, so I hopped into a truck with Kyle and he gave me a tour of the farm before we began shooting. In addition to the gorgeous barn, they had a quintessential green and yellow John Deere tractor, and I had Christine and Kyle jump up into the seat to start off the session. One of my absolute favorite parts about the session was the farm cats that were sprinting through the fields and weaving between our legs. We even managed to incorporate one of the cute felines while photographing in front of a big wood stack by the forest edge of the farm. Afterward we tromped through the woods and finally wrapped things up using an old, broken down classic car as a backdrop. I’m not sure how it ended up there, but it was very cool looking with all of the vines and foliage growing up through it. I absolutely loved photographing all of the character on Christine’s Woodland, Washington family farm, and I have no doubt that Christine and Kyle’s wedding this September will be amazing with the barn wood decorations. 🙂 — KC
