Joan and Nicholas’ McMenamins Edgefield wedding was a vibrant, unforgettable celebration filled with love, music, and joy. The ceremony and cocktail hour took place on the lawn close to sunset outside Blackberry Hall, where guests enjoyed the fresh air and lush surroundings. After the ceremony we roamed the grounds and found beautiful, giant sunflowers to incorporate into their photos. As the evening continued, everyone moved inside Blackberry Hall for a lively reception full of energy and personal touches.
A Rocking Performance and Heartfelt Moments
One of the most incredible moments of the night was when Joan took the stage with her punk rock bandmates to perform a song for Nicholas, while he looked on entranced. She jumped around, singing with passion, while her friend shredded an electrifying guitar solo. It was a moment of pure magic that showcased their love, personality, and connection through music.
Joan and Nicholas initially considered eloping but ultimately decided to throw a party where they could celebrate with friends and family. Their wedding was not only a reflection of their love story—starting from their unforgettable first meeting during the Naked Bike Ride in downtown Portland—but also of the life they have built together while raising their twins.
