An Early Morning Oneonta Gorge Engagement Session

At our first meeting, Hanna already knew exactly where she wanted her engagement photos taken, Oneonta Gorge. She and her fiance Del love exploring the Pacific Northwest and she wanted to have that come across during their session. Oneonta Gorge was the perfect location with it having so many cool aspects to it including an old railroad tunnel, a stream that flows beneath the historic highway, a log jam, the most impressive slot canyon, and a waterfall to cap things off. Unfortunately, we opted to skip the waterfall because it required wading through chest deep waters and we had elected to shoot in the chilly early morning to avoid any crowds, as often happens at this extremely popular location in the Columbia River Gorge. So getting super soak didn’t seem too appealing at the time. But we did get to hit up all of my other favorite spots. Hanna and Del will actually be getting married next spring at Silver Falls State Park, which given good weather may involve a ceremony in front of a waterfall. So although we didn’t get to do any engagement photos in front of a waterfall, we’ll at the very least get to take portraits in front of one during their wedding. So I’m extremely amped for that because if you’ve ever seen my work it’s pretty evident that I love waterfalls. And I’m excited to be collaborating with a couple who also shares that same enthusiasm! 🙂  — KC
