The Ruins Wedding Photos: Getting Ready and First Look
Capturing The Ruins wedding photos is always a treat, and Anna and Michael’s day was no exception. Anna and her bridesmaids got ready at the nearby Historic Hood River Hotel, sipping mimosas and spinning vinyl on a record player. Once at The Ruins Hood River, Anna slipped into her gown, featuring elegant transparent sleeves. Meanwhile, Michael and his groomsmen toasted whiskey shots from Sasquatch shot glasses and shared cigars before getting dressed.
For their first look, Anna and Michael met under the shaded trees surrounding The Ruins. Happy tears flowed, and they spun in circles for each other showing off their wedding attire. The ceremony stage, with its circular trellis, provided a stunning backdrop for their portraits. And during wedding party photos, Michael and his groomsmen hammed it up, pretending to play air guitar and piano, bringing laughter to the group.
A Beautiful Ceremony at The Ruins Hood River
One of the most unique elements of hosting a wedding at The Ruins in Hood River is the venue’s historic charm that comes across in the photos. Originally a fruit cannery that burned down in the 1930s, the crumbling concrete walls now create a romantic, castle-like atmosphere. The industrial red metal staircase added to the venue’s character as Anna descended during the ceremony with her father, both smiling joyously. Throughout the ceremony, guests dabbed away tears, and laughter erupted when Michael fumbled with Anna’s ring. As they walked back up the aisle, guests blew bubbles, adding a whimsical touch to the moment.
A Joyful Reception and Sunset Portraits
Since Anna loves trains, we took advantage of the Mt. Hood Railroad tracks just beyond the venue for some ethereal sunset wedding photos. The colorful red trains with yellow handrails offer a punchy background for couples who want vibrant and nostalgic The Ruins wedding photos.
Later in the night a live DJ got the music pumping, and Anna changed into a cute second dress for the reception. Michael later stole her veil for a playful dance that had guests laughing. Anna and Michaels wedding photos at The Ruins are filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments—memories Anna and Michael will cherish forever.
