A Cooper Spur Wedding with a Bold Purple Twist
Heather and Andrew’s Cooper Spur wedding was a perfect mix of mountain charm and personal flair. They chose Cooper Spur Mountain Resort for their love of the outdoors and snowboarding, even though the summer setting meant no snow. The bold purple theme reflected their appreciation for the Joker from Batman—because Andrew has such a big, infectious smile and laugh. Andrew rocked purple shoes and a bowtie, while Heather added subtle touches, including sneakers with purple laces and a Harlequin-inspired garter.
Emotional First Looks and a Playful Ceremony
Heather shared an emotional first look with her grandfather, who later walked her down the aisle. She and Andrew opted for a first touch instead of a first look, exchanging gifts while keeping the moment of seeing each other for the ceremony. Both were overwhelmed with emotion, shedding tears even before the vows.
Andrew’s best man stole the show before the ceremony even started, stepping in as the flower girl. With a purse full of lavender, he pranced down the aisle in dramatic fashion, leaving guests in stitches. But the heart of the ceremony was the handfasting ritual, where Heather’s daughter helped tie the knot—literally—symbolizing the blending of their families.
Portraits on the Cooper Spur Chair Lifts
Even in summer, Cooper Spur wedding portraits are breathtaking. We started with a few portraits nearby the reception tent with the sunset light streaming through the trees. We then took advantage of the nearby chair lifts a short drive away for unique photos, capturing the essence of their mountain-loving spirits. Earlier in the day, we also ventured to a scenic gravel road with an incredible Mt. Hood backdrop, making for some unforgettable portraits.
A Celebration of Family and Nature
Heather and Andrew each had a daughter before meeting, and their wedding day was as much about uniting their family as it was about their love. Heather’s daughter walking Andrew down the aisle was a touching moment, followed by a heartfelt post-ceremony hug that left everyone teary-eyed.
A Cooper Spur wedding offers more than just a stunning location—it provides an experience. With cozy cabins for guests, endless natural beauty, and even a giant tent in case of unpredictable weather, it’s a dream setting for couples who love adventure, family, and the great outdoors.
