An Intimate Silcox Hut Wedding
A Silcox Hut wedding is an unforgettable experience, offering couples and their guests a secluded alpine retreat above Timberline Lodge with breathtaking views of Mt. Hood. Corinne and Jessica chose this historic stone hut for their intimate celebration, sharing their vows and laughter with 25 of their closest friends and family in a warm and laidback gathering.
Getting Ready at Timberline Lodge
The day began down at Timberline Lodge, where Corinne and Jessica got ready with the support of their loved ones. Friends and family helped them into their dresses, and before heading up the mountain, we captured their first look and portraits featuring the historic lodge as a backdrop. The couple then took the rugged shuttle ride up the gravel road to the Silcox Hut, where the adventure of their wedding day truly began.
A Personal and Meaningful Ceremony
Before their official ceremony, Jessica and Corinne shared a private vow exchange outside the Silcox Hut, reading heartfelt letters to each other in the crisp mountain air. When it was time for the ceremony, they walked down the aisle together, hand in hand, both radiant in their white dresses with vibrant bouquets. The intimate setting of the hut, with its rustic wooden benches and grand stone fireplace, created a cozy atmosphere as their guests looked on.
As a special touch, the couple’s wedding rings were passed around to each guest, allowing them to hold the rings and whisper well wishes before Corinne and Jessica exchanged them. They also sealed private letters and a bottle of wine in a wooden box, a time capsule to be opened on a future anniversary. After their heartfelt vows and first kiss, they walked up the aisle as their guests blew bubbles, adding to the joy of the moment.
Sunset Views and a Cozy Celebration
After family photos, I took the newlyweds outside for sunset portraits, capturing them against the dramatic silhouette of Mt. Hood bathed in warm light. Their guests soon joined them, soaking in the view, arms wrapped around their partners, taking in the magic of the Pacific Northwest. For many, it was their first time experiencing this landscape up close, making the moment even more special.
Inside, the reception tables were elegantly rearranged for a cozy dinner. Laughter filled the hut as a family member presented Corinne and Jessica with a stuffed Simba from The Lion King, a playful inside joke. Jessica’s mom added another heartfelt touch by playing a song on a travel guitar she had brought just for the occasion.
The Magic of a Silcox Hut Wedding
A Silcox Hut wedding is perfect for couples looking for an intimate and unique mountain experience. While Corinne and Jessica celebrated in the summer, this venue is also an incredible winter destination for couples seeking a snowy, alpine adventure. With the ability to host both the wedding and overnight accommodations in one location, the Silcox Hut offers an unmatched experience for those looking to celebrate love at one of Oregon’s most breathtaking locations.
