I had been looking forward to this Camp Mountaindale wedding for some time. Adrienne and Steve, the bride and groom, are two good friends of mine, and earlier in the year we had an absolute blast during their engagement session at White River Falls. If you haven’t seen that session you ought to check it out. It can be found here. Aside from getting to hang out with and photograph two friends on their wedding day, I was especially looking forward to this wedding because Adrienne and Steve had some special entertainment planned for the reception, and it blew everyone’s minds. Well, at the very least it blew my mind. It turns out that two of their friends are aerial dancers, and with the help of some climber friends they rigged up their silks and hung them from the ceiling of the giant vaulted ceiling of the log cabin where the reception was held. I’m not sure if they’re professionals or not, but they did an amazing job and received a well-deserved standing ovation. In my mind it was a borderline Cirque Du Soleli performance. I’ve shot some pretty cool weddings this year, but any time you throw in something as cool as aerial dancing into the mix you elevate your event to special status. Well played, Adrienne and Steve, well played. — KC

I could watch Scndhiler’s List and still be happy after reading this.
