A Stylish and Personal Baker Building Wedding

Ann and Jake’s Baker Building wedding was a perfect blend of urban charm and personal touches. The Baker Building, a historic venue in North Portland, offered an intimate and stylish setting for their celebration. With its beautiful ballroom, vintage architectural details, and convenient location, it provided the perfect canvas for Ann’s artistic vision.

A Unique Wedding Day Arrival

Ann started her day getting ready at the Ace Hotel, a trendy downtown Portland hotel that matched her stylish sensibilities. She was transported to the Baker Building in a classic 1960s Ford Thunderbird, singing along to a mixtape her maid of honor had made—a heartfelt and fun surprise that set the tone for the day. Meanwhile, Jake and his groomsmen kicked off the festivities with a stop at a local hat shop, each picking out a cool hat to wear for the wedding.

A Ceremony and Reception with Heartfelt Details

The couple’s first look took place in the Baker Building’s ballroom, where soft natural light illuminated the elegant space. Ann, a talented artist, had hand-painted the ceremony backdrop, making their vows even more meaningful. The reception continued the artistic and intimate vibe, featuring candlelit tables, delicate floral-patterned plates, leafy garlands, and rustic wooden tables adorned with charcuterie boards. Ann also wrote a heartfelt poem for guests to read, adding another layer of personal significance to the celebration.

Portraits, Dancing, and a Surprise Exit

Before the reception, we took portraits around the Baker Building’s vintage hallways and the surrounding urban landscape. At sunset, we drove to nearby Peninsula Park, where the blooming roses provided a romantic backdrop. Back at the Baker Building, the night ended with a high-energy dance party, complete with a playful lap dance from Jake and a photo booth crown passed among guests. In a final, hilarious surprise, friends decorated the Thunderbird with shaving cream before the couple’s sparkler-lit exit, making their departure as fun and memorable as the rest of their Baker Building wedding.
