The location of Karmen and Daniel’s engagement session had the most amazing wildflower varietals, and that’s only the tip of the iceberg. We started the session on the dirt road that led to their friends’ off-grid farm where they harvest their own water and electricity. The farm comes complete with llamas and chickens, and it has the most bizarre, yet amazing wooden dock to nowhere overlooking the rolling foothills of Grizzly Mountain. We explored the farm and it’s many features, including the dock, as well as a cute chicken coop and greenhouse dome where the landowners grow their vegetables. Afterward, we hiked to the top of the nearest hilltop where an assortment of wildflowers canvassed the ground. Nearby sat a rock wall built long ago that now lay in disarray. Months prior to the shoot, Daniel had proposed to Karmen there, and Karmen had subsequently lost her wallet. During the shoot we took a moment to search between the fallen stones for her wallet, hoping it might have survived the winter snow, but it didn’t turn up. So we decided to frolic in the windflowers instead, taking photos while the sun disappeared below the horizon. 🙂 — KC
