A Coastal Celebration at Yachats Inn
Melinda and Jack’s Yachats Inn wedding photos are a heartfelt reflection of their celebration of love, nature, and simplicity. Their journey together began at a summer job in college, where they bonded over a shared passion for conservation. Over the years, they worked together to expand wilderness protection around Crater Lake and have remained lifelong advocates for environmental causes. Their deep appreciation for nature made the rugged beauty of the Oregon Coast the perfect place to exchange vows.
Getting Ready at Overleaf Lodge and Spa
The morning of the wedding was calm and intimate. Instead of the traditional separate preparations, Melinda and Jack chose to get ready together at the Overleaf Lodge and Spa. They wanted to be fully present for each other, supporting one another through every moment of the day. Melinda’s mother helped her into her dress, sharing a quiet, tearful embrace that set the tone for the emotional day ahead.
Their first look took place on the rocky bluff behind the lodge, where the ocean wind tangled through Melinda’s hair as Jack turned to see her. With a background in theater, both were completely at ease in front of the camera, laughing and twirling together in a way that felt entirely natural. After capturing portraits along the coastline, we made our way to the Yachats Inn for family photos before the ceremony.
Ceremony with a Stunning Ocean View
The ceremony took place on the Yachats Inn’s spacious lawn, with waves crashing behind them as they exchanged vows. They had long considered themselves lifelong partners, but this moment symbolized a new chapter. With the ocean stretching endlessly behind them, they exchanged heartfelt vows, reaffirming the bond they had nurtured for years.
Yachats Inn Wedding Photos at the Tea House
xThe reception was held at the Tea House, the inn’s charming event space. With a fully equipped catering kitchen, hardwood dance floor, and an inviting 2,000 sq. ft. wraparound deck, it was the perfect setting for their relaxed and joyful evening. Guests dined outdoors, enjoying the fresh sea air and the warmth of the built-in benches protected by a glass wind wall. The intimate indoor space glowed softly as the couple shared their first dance, the sound of the ocean never far away.
As the sun dipped toward the horizon, we took a short walk to the rocky shoreline for some romantic Yachats wedding photos near dusk. The breeze tousled Melinda’s hair as Jack held her close, a moment that perfectly captured the adventurous, free-spirited love they share. This was the wedding they had always dreamed of—simple and deeply personal. They even took a moment for a private walk along the coast just the two of them, as they soaked it all in before returning to the dance party.
