A Smooth Start Despite a Bumpy Morning
Katie and Joel’s Mt Hood Organic Farms wedding was a breathtaking celebration filled with love, laughter, and stunning scenery. The day started with getting ready photos in the cozy on-site houses, where Katie and her bridesmaids wore matching t-shirts with adorable cat illustrations that read, “I’ll knead you always.” Their bridesmaids’ dresses, a stylish mix of gold and pink, added an elegant variety to the wedding aesthetic. Meanwhile, Joel and his groomsmen prepared in a separate house, keeping the anticipation high before the couple’s first look.
However, the morning didn’t go entirely as planned—Katie and Joel arrived late due to a dead car battery. Thankfully, I always build buffer time into the schedule, so I reassured them that we had plenty of time to capture all the moments they had envisioned. Once they arrived, the excitement took over, and the rest of the day unfolded beautifully.
A Stunning Ceremony with an Unbeatable Backdrop
A few weeks ago, I had the honor of photographing Katie and Joel’s romantic wedding at Mt Hood Organic Farms. I was especially excited after collaborating on their engagement photos at Sauvie Island last fall. Their ceremony was held outdoors, with Mt Hood providing an awe-inspiring backdrop that felt close enough to touch. The couple exchanged vows under a bright sky, surrounded by wildflowers and the peaceful orchards that make this venue so special.
After the heartfelt ceremony, guests gathered for cocktail hour, sipping custom cocktails while playing lawn games. The relaxed atmosphere allowed everyone to fully soak in the beauty of the farm and the joy of the occasion.
A Reception Full of Charm and Personality
Dinner was held inside the Apple House, a unique space where the venue produces cider when it’s not hosting weddings. Its colorful and organic design elements make it unlike any other venue in Oregon. Reception tables were decorated with charming details—succulents, old books, and vintage teacups—that perfectly reflected Katie and Joel’s personality.
As the evening progressed, the dance floor filled with energy. But one of the most magical moments of the night came just as the sun began to set. Everyone stepped outside to witness a breathtaking sunset that sculpted the crags of Mt Hood with warm pink hues, a perfect way to close out an unforgettable day.
Why a Mt Hood Organic Farms Wedding is Unforgettable
A Mt Hood Organic Farms wedding offers couples and guests an extraordinary experience. From the intimate, whimsical getting-ready spaces to the breathtaking ceremony site with Mt Hood in the distance, every corner of this venue is thoughtfully designed for beauty and comfort. The orchards and rolling hills provide a peaceful retreat, while the wildflowers add a touch of romance to every photo. The venue’s charming Apple House makes for a warm, welcoming reception space, where nature and history blend seamlessly.
Katie and Joel’s wedding was not only a stunning celebration but also a bittersweet farewell. Just a few weeks after their wedding, they packed up and moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, embarking on an exciting new adventure together. As they start their new life in a new city, I know they’ll always carry the love and memories from this incredible day with them. I’m beyond grateful to have captured such a special chapter in their story and wish them all the best in the journey ahead!

The link I gave for the parody has a half-way decent description but I can look around for something better.
