Abiqua Falls Engagement Session Photography

After a long winter vacation traveling in New Zealand, I’m back with my first engagement session of the spring featuring Jillian and Ryan at Abiqua Falls. I’ve been wanting to shoot an engagement session at Abiqua Falls for a couple years, being that it’s one my favorite waterfalls in Oregon. Its plummeting waters are a force of nature to behold, and its rock walls on either side feature beautiful red columns. The only problem is that it’s a bit hard to reach because it requires a 4×4 vehicle to avoid a much longer hike, and if you take the wrong trail down to the river it can be quite treacherous. Luckily, Jillian and Ryan were game, and they had a 4×4 truck, which cut 4 miles off the hike. The day before I had driven the rough road in my Subaru and I was pretty nervous I might pop a tire in a pothole or bottom out, but the day of the shoot while Ryan drove the bumpy gravel road, he was so relaxed he hummed a song on the stereo as Jillian and I bounced around the cab. I took this as a very good sign that these two were going to be a lot of fun to photograph. — KC
