A Romantic Wedding at Leach Botanical Garden

Patricia and Jeffrey traveled from Dallas, Texas, to celebrate their wedding at the stunning Leach Botanical Garden in SE Portland. Patricia, originally from the Pacific Northwest, had family in Washington, making Portland an ideal destination. Having previously captured their engagement session at the Dallas Arboretum, I was thrilled to photograph their wedding photos at Leach Botanical Garden, surrounded by lush greenery and natural beauty.

An Intimate First Look in the Courtyard

Patricia prepared for the day in the manor house’s charming upstairs library, where we captured her solo portraits bathed in soft natural light. The anticipation built as we walked to the back courtyard, where Jeffrey waited for their first look. The quiet, shaded canopy of trees provided the perfect atmosphere as they shared a heartfelt moment before wandering the grounds for portraits. The stone hut nestled in the valley and the serene stream running through the garden and the bridge spanning its width added magical backdrops to their wedding photos at Leach Botanical Garden.

A Ceremony Surrounded by Nature

Their ceremony took place in the idyllic courtyard, decorated with streamers and stacked vintage books that reflected their love for literature. As Jeffrey attempted to slide Patricia’s ring onto her finger, a comical struggle ensued, making for a lighthearted, memorable moment. Guests laughed along, setting the tone for a joyous celebration ahead.

A Night of Celebration Under Twinkling Lights

Following the ceremony, the courtyard was seamlessly transformed for the reception. Warm accent bulbs illuminated the space as guests enjoyed a delicious meal while dusk settled in. Patricia and Jeffrey shared their first dance beneath the grand oak tree, creating a dreamy, fairytale moment. The dance floor soon filled with energy as guests swayed, blew bubbles, and snapped Polaroids to commemorate the evening. Their grand exit, complete with guests waving streamers, was the perfect send-off to an unforgettable day.
